Onigiri Bongo Itabashi

I’ve been to the original in Otsuka and waited in line on a rainy night like everyone else. But to my surprise, this location wasn’t crowded at all on a weeknight. No line, no wait, just went right in. It’s a small shop but like the original, packs big flavor. I went with the tuna mayo (ツナマヨ) and pork kimchi (豚キムチ) which were both excellent. They are huge, and served fresh with warm rice, which is the best. I was gonna take a couple home but they finished the rice shortly after I arrived. Friendly staff and just a great experience every time.

Absolutely massive onigiri... was completely stuffed from eating 3! This location wasn't crowded at all coming on a weeknight.

Just two onigiris and miso soup made my stomach so full!! White rice was fluffy, Sea weed was so tasty.

Waited outside for about 20-30mins, note that if you are dining in that you go inside to write your name on the queue list. Compared to a conbini onigiri, this one is much bigger and has a lot of filling, much more flavour. The egg yolk and minced meat was a delicious choice and while the salmon and roe while delicious was incredibly salty.

This is just wonderful. If you are a fan of onigiri. Please come and enjoy one of the many whimsical flavours or even just the original. The prices are friendly and the staff are friendlier. Green tea is complimentary. I got tuna mayo as a safe side and bacon(bekon). Both are fantastic and you should be adventurous and hopefully be rewarded. Consider getting miso soup to wash it all down. Unlimited refills for soup if you ask nicely. Limited seats with narrow passage way.

Beware, their hours can be inconsistent. Came here once around an hour around closing time, and they had sold out. Came here on a Tuesday morning, and they had a sign on the door saying they were taking a break. However, the third time was the charm. I came here a bit before opening time (11:15) on a Wednesday morning, and the place was already almost full. I got a set of three onigiri for only 850 yen. I chose egg with salmon, negitoro, and pork with kimchi. All three were really great. The rice was fresh and warm. The seaweed was warm and fragrant. And the fillings were distributed nicely and very flavorful. I especially enjoyed the egg and salmon, the egg just brings an incredible richness.

Very tasty onigiri! All the onigiri was very big and filled to the brim with delicious things like the soy sauce cured egg yolk. The staff was also very kind and helpful and the place was clean and comfortable.

As people said it takes hours to queue for Otsuka branch, so I chose this branch instead. I did not wait for long as the turnover was quick. Most of the customers are local. I ordered salmon + mentaiko (しゃけ明太) and egg yolk (卵黄), came with miso soup and pickled radish as a set. The onigiri were the most fluffy ones I have ever eaten and warm. Highly recommended
